My boss told me he has been asking more resources from his boss and the justification he provided to his boss is that I am not performing at the level and learning as fast as he has expected. There are only two people in our team currently. As a matter of fact, he has been conveying the same message every week when he is doing his weekly update with his boss.
The truth is that he leaves all the business projects and business meetings to me and is only involved in what he likes which is not much related to our business. As seen by everybody in the department, I have been working extremely hard and handling all the projects independantly on behalf of our team. Everyone questions that what he is busy with and where he has been. I guess that his boss is the only person who does not know what is going on because He pulls me into his office and let me update the status of each project every time before he goes to his status update meeting with his boss. He told me today that his boss asked why two of us are doing the same projects and he said that I am not capable enough so he has to put his hands in.
This is definitely a distortion of the ture picture. As a matter of fact, since the first day I joined this company, I have been told almost by everyone that he is a very tough person to work with and he does not have any people mangement skills and he should not have any direct reports.
What should I do in this case? Should I talk to his boss? I do not want to get the issue bigger. All his previous employees who have had issues with him and left the team never said anything to his boss. However, on the other hand, if I do not say anything, I may lose my job and I like my work and do not want to leave my work just because of him.
Any suggestions?
