川普（Donald Trump）與薛恩鮑姆本周稍早達成共識，美國暫緩對墨西哥進口商品課征關稅，並換取墨西哥在跟美國接壤的北部邊境部署數千名國家衛隊（National Guard）人員，以進一步降低前往美國的移民。
薛恩鮑姆於例行記者會指出，墨西哥還會透過班機和陸路運輸等方式將被驅逐的移民遣送回洪都拉斯，但她強調，遣送不是強製的。The US has deported almost 11,000 immigrants to Mexico since US President Donald Trump took office 18 days ago, Mexican leader Claudia Sheinbaum said.
