耶穌高度評價施洗約翰 — 馬太福音讀經隨筆 第11章

馬太福音第十一章第1—14節裏施洗約翰在獄中懷疑耶穌是不是那位要來的救世主。施洗約翰是舊約時代的最後一位先知。耶穌體恤施洗約翰在獄中的軟弱，盡管聽到施洗約翰的懷疑，耶穌還是當眾給予了他很高的評價：他比先知大多了，他就是那位為主鋪路的以利亞，凡從婦人生的，沒有一個大過他的，因為他是唯一的一個先知直接做見證直接將耶穌引到人前。但天國裏最小的也比他大，因為他隻是新郎的朋友，而不是新婦，盡管如此，如他自己在約翰福音所說“新郎的朋友站著聽見新郎的聲音就甚喜樂”。 其中第12節我覺得和合本的翻譯有很大的問題，其實原文的意思應該是“從施洗約翰的時候到如今，天國正在遭受暴力，暴徒正在用暴力搶奪” ，因為去天國隻有通過耶穌，那是唯一通往天國的平安之路，其它的路都是暴力搶奪。
太11:2 約翰在監裏聽見基督所作的事、就打發兩個門徒去、
Now when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples
太11:3 問他說、那將要來的是你麽、還是我們等候別人呢。
and said to him, "Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?"
太11:4 耶穌回答說、你們去把所聽見所看見的事告訴約翰．
Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
太11:5 就是瞎子看見、瘸子行走、長大痲瘋的潔淨、聾子聽見、死人複活、窮人有福音傳給他們。
the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
太11:6 凡不因我跌倒的、就有福了。
Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me."
太11:9 你們出去、究竟是為甚麽、是要看先知麽．我告訴你們、是的、他比先知大多了．
But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
太11:10 經上記著說、『我要差遣我的使者在你前麵、預備道路。』所說的就是這個人。
For this is he, of whom it is written, 'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'
太11:11 我實在告訴你們、凡婦人所生的、沒有一個興起來大過施洗約翰的．然而天國裏最小的、比他還大。
Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.太11:12 從施洗約翰的時候到如今、天國是努力進入的、努力的人就得著了。
From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
