耶穌帶給了我們知足的心

保羅在新約書信的提摩太前書和腓立比書裏各用了一定的篇幅勸勉主裏的弟兄姐妹們要有知足的心。希伯來書也提到人要以自己現所擁有的為足。弟兄姐妹們的生命乃是主用他的血在十字架上換來的，他擔當了我們的罪，替我們受了我們在末世要受的神的懲罰，讓我們有了永生，永遠生活在神的愛的國度裏。

在提摩太前書裏，耶穌基督的使徒保羅提醒提摩太敬虔加上知足會使一個人獲益匪淺，因為這樣的人生會充滿耶穌的平安喜樂，並且人帶不走這世界上的任何東西，積累的錢財何用？若不待在耶穌基督裏，那堆積如山的錢財會帶來真正的平安喜樂嗎？保羅說貪財是萬惡之根，這樣的人會有很多的愁苦和痛苦，這些貪婪與愁苦刺穿了他們自己，給自己製造了許多的痛苦。我們這些屬神的子民不要貪財，而是要生活在神的愛裏，有信心，愛神愛人，耐心，溫柔，追求公義。正如希伯來書所說，神是我們的幫手，總不撇下我們，因此，屬神的人不用懼怕。

在上一篇文章裏，我們已經提到了腓立比書裏保羅帶給信徒們的榜樣：靠主喜樂和那種隨事隨在的知足感。

提前6:6 然而敬虔加上知足的心便是大利了．
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
提前6:7 因為我們沒有帶甚麽到世上來、也不能帶甚麽去．
For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out.
提前6:8 隻要有衣有食、就當知足。
But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.
提前6:9 但那些想要發財的人、就陷在迷惑、落在網羅、和許多無知有害的私欲裏、叫人沉在敗壞和滅亡中。
But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.
提前6:10 貪財是萬惡之根．有人貪戀錢財、就被引誘離了真道、用許多愁苦把自己刺透了。
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
提前6:11 但你這屬神的人、要逃避這些事、追求公義、敬虔、信心、愛心、忍耐、溫柔。
But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

來13:5 你們存心不可貪愛錢財．要以自己所有的為足．因為主曾說、『我總不撇下你、也不丟棄你。』
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."
來13:6 所以我們可以放膽說、『主是幫助我的、我必不懼怕．人能把我怎麽樣呢。』
So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

路3:14 又有兵丁問他說、我們當作甚麽呢。約翰說、不要以強暴待人、也不要訛詐人、自己有錢糧就當知足。
Soldiers also asked him, saying, "What about us? What must we do?" He said to them, "Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages."

腓4:10 我靠主大大的喜樂、因為你們思念我的心、如今又發生．你們向來就思念我、隻是沒得機會。
But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity.
腓4:11 我並不是因缺乏說這話、我無論在甚麽景況、都可以知足、這是我已經學會了．
Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.
腓4:12 我知道怎樣處卑賤、也知道怎樣處豐富、或飽足、或饑餓、或有餘、或缺乏、隨事隨在、我都得了秘訣。
I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
腓4:13 我靠著那加給我力量的、凡事都能作。
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
