K娃糖豆對“物理知識”的感知 (1)

糖豆熱衷於玩具。最近玩的起勁的是那4個Perplaxus Balls http://www.amazon.com/Perplexus-BL300-Epic/dp/B004H1V5RU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386083428&sr=8-2&keywords=perplexus+ball)  。昏天黑地的轉過來轉過去的!折騰幾個小時是肯定的。反正比玩iPad game強。隨他了。

 

13年11月的某一天,小人濕漉漉地被從shower裏抱出來。還沒著裝完全呢,就捧起擱置一邊的Perplaxus。突然,他亮晶晶的大眼睛又“閃光”了!急切地問: “Is it possible that the little marble falls, but never touches the outside ball?”  不等我回答,他回答:“Yeah!  If you let the whole ball fall and fall and fall, the marble will never touch the side of the plastic ball.  The marble ball even wouldn’t know it is falling!” 虧得糖豆媽也是個visual spatial learner。早幾年讀了Einstein傳記,裏麵描述的“Einstein‘s elevator”貌似就是這個道理。頓時將兒子和偉大的Einstein老先生給“搭橋”起來了。

 

這可還沒完呢:“Wormhole is very dangerous!  You jump in, just like the marble falls.  The marble supposes to fall on here! (他一手捧著ball,一手指著底端一點)  But the Universe might be turning. (他轉了ball)  Then the marble lands at different place (他的手指著底上一點,但已經不是原來的“點”了).  You really don’t know where you will be once you come out of the wormhole!”  前一陣子糖豆媽在家看了些科普物理知識的書和科教片。記得曾有人提起類似的Universe Turning的問題。當然現在是被否決了。不想禁錮他發散性思維,我憋住了沒有糾正他。糖豆繼續著他的“imagination”:“The marble falls.  It supposes land on the next level: 60.  But I turned the plastic ball, and made the marble land on level 120!  It skipped so much without even knowing it!  As if it just went through extra-dimension!”  那啥,Space Wrap是不是就講的:Space Shuttle不動,而將環繞在Shuttle周圍的Space用Anti-Matter給快速move了,造成Shuttle近光速行進的可能?(非理科生的糖豆媽的理解,說錯了別砸哈!)

 

牛頓物理知識的啟蒙:

糖豆對“物理”類知識有特殊的“親和力”。從2歲起琢磨Solar system, Universe,到4歲時提出:“Earthquark makes the house shake,but Gravity pulls the houses down”,他也好奇“Newton's 3 Laws of motion” (過去的博文,關於他的早期物理啟蒙:http://blog.wenxuecity.com/myblog/62002/201303/24199.html和http://blog.wenxuecity.com/myblog/62002/201304/5514.html)。最近一次活學活用牛頓的定律是在被一5歲女漢子bully了後。一開始隻是被screamed at,後來發展到小臉被女孩子鉛筆劃過!我們希望他能去說服女孩子別這麽野蠻:“Treat other nicely just like the way you want to be treated”。糖豆想了一想說:“Yeah!That kinda like if you push something, you actually got pushed back the same time!”

某一天臨睡前,糖豆爸爸問“倆球,一個大鐵球,一個小皮球。同一高度落下,哪個先著地!假設沒有空氣”!小人中文不怎麽給力,他爹翻E文時疏忽了幾個關鍵詞,變成“in deep space, two balls, one heavy, one light, which one drop faster?" 糖豆立馬回答"the same!" 他爹高興啊“怎麽知道的啊!”糖豆一邊在俺的皮沙發上跳,一邊笑道“They both aren't moving! In deep space, if there is No Gravity! They keep the way they are!" 糖豆爸爸立即加道“不是啦!是有gravity的情況下,兩個一起same height 掉下來!” 糖豆依舊bounce得那麽高興“The same! The same!還是 the Same!” 他爸灰常滿意!再問“what if there is air? one feather,one metal ball?” 這個難不住糖豆的: “friction push the feather UP! metal ball fell first!" (糖豆對“概念問題”一向抓得很準,而且不忘。糖豆爸爸問這問題時,距糖豆同學學習此類知識起碼已經是半年後了。)

 

糖豆對“數學”類知識也很有親和力(等有時間來818,最近小朋友自己跟著iTune U學的是Calculus,據說“It's fun!”他學知識是跳躍性的,他代數幾何是同時學,Trig和PreCalculus也是同時學(其實還沒有完成呢!汗!),gap肯定很大,但熱情高漲的時候就隨他了。)。一天,在高速公路上,我很Casual的介紹了“speed=distance/time”的公式。幾天後,還是在高速上,我介紹了Acceleration的名詞“A is the rate how soon a car can speed up: one car can do it in 5 seconds from 0 to 60MPH, the other one takes 30 seconds!”  糖豆在後座激動地說: “Oh!  The 5 seconds one has higher A!  A is Velocity divided by Time!”  嗬嗬嗬,差一點啊,就居然正確了!糖豆將“速度”和“Energy”給聯係起來了。某天早晨讓他擤鼻涕harder!他樂了:“Yeah!Higher Velocity gives more Energy!”

 

Einstein物理知識的啟蒙:

糖豆比較早就知道了Gravitational force如何運作。去年11月的一天,遊泳後在更衣室裏調皮。更衣室中央有個下水口(呈典型“漏鬥狀)。糖豆繞著這下水口走,笑道:“That’s the Sun in the middle!It made a dent in the Space-Time!I will fall in。。。”但,突然,他停住了,“What if I am a ball?Not rolling around on the floor (2-D plain), but bounce OVER it?”我說:“沒關係啊。Gravity works in 3-D, not 2-D floor 呀!”他認真地看著我:“Yeah! But then why the planets all go around Sun ‘flat’? (8大行星在一個平麵上繞日公轉)The Milky Way is flat (disc shape) not a sphere?”  這!這!這!當時我真希望自己是物理超級棒的媽啊!

 

糖豆小時候知道有個東東叫“Space-Time”。他相信“Time Stands still if one travels at the speed of light”。也是去年11月份的時候,某天傍晚時分在加油站,他在後座突然幽幽地說:“I am glad we are so slower than the speed of light!I mean,otherwise,our one minute could be 120 seconds or longer or forever。If you travel at the speed of light,you actually don't have TIME anymore!” 我想了想。是啊:光從一個地方travel去另一個地方,對於“light”自身來說,there is NO TIME。

有時間再來818糖豆對Quantum世界的感觸。不少靈感挺有意思的!
