音樂視頻:莫紮特的《安魂曲》
——為餘傑被迫出走中國而發
貝多芬的《D大調莊嚴彌撒》和莫紮特的《安魂曲》在我所欣賞過的全部西方經典音樂作品中排在首位。它們原本被排在我的全部音樂視頻博客係列文章的最後。最近聽聞餘傑及其家人被迫出走中國,我不得不打亂計劃,決定提前將莫紮特的《安魂曲》奉獻在此。如果餘傑在其《去國聲明》中所述事實及其出走的理由成立,那麽,這就是這個自稱具有5000年文明史的國家和民族向野蠻退化的明證和悲劇。
一個人或一群人對另一個人的自由的剝奪就是他或他們對所有其他人的自由的剝奪;一個人或一群人對另一個人的肉體和精神的奴役就是他或他們對所有其他人的精神和肉體的奴役。這是人世間最大的惡,因為它是對一切平等、正直和公義的徹底背叛。
謹以此音樂視頻博文表達自己對在中國近代史上踐行獨立思考、追求個人自由之精神並因此而為實現中國民主化而努力奮鬥的前輩、同輩以及若幹代下一輩的敬意。祝他們成功!願我的祖國不再有人對人的奴役,願人類更加美好!

NOTES:
Introitus is complete, Kyrie is almost fully orchestrated, Sequentia and Offertorium are fully sketched in voices and continuo, but we have only the first eight bars of Lacrimosa (which ends the Sequentia).
No Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei, although the Agnus Dei is suspected by some scholars to have been based on instruction or sketches from Mozart (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Requiem_%28Mozart%29).
The last piece (in part 3/3) is a short sketch for an Amen fugue, which could be part of the Requiem, we don't exactly know.
Note that Süssmayr decided to end the work by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words of Lux Aeterna. This original unfinished version ends with the Amen sketched fugue not presenting the Lux Aeterna.

I also watched that movie around 1988. I liked it.

In 1985 movie Amadeus, Requiem has strong relation to Mozart’s death. I was deeply moved by the passion of music portrayed by both actors for Mozart and the jealous court musician Salieri.
The “grey messenger” who commissioned Mozart’s final work was actually an emissary for Count Walsegg-Stuppsch, who wished to perform the Requiem in memory of his wife and required anonymity because he wished to pass the work off as his own.
Mozart started it in good spirits, but his health began to fail and he became obsessed with the idea that he was writing it for his own death. Death did indeed strike when the work was far from complete...
