1. 傳統條狀或噴花

Fiber glass條帶含纖維才保持形狀，但刺激皮膚；噴花的不刺激皮膚。cellulose是廢報紙加化學防黴料，潮濕後性能差很難處理。

外牆保溫材料必須經過批準才能用於地下用途。通常，以下等級使用三種產品：擠塑聚苯乙烯Extruded polystyrene、發泡聚苯乙烯expanded polystyrene和硬質礦物纖維板rockwool。 擠壓聚苯乙烯（每英寸標稱 R-5）是常見的選擇。發泡聚苯乙烯（標稱R-4每英寸）較便宜，但其絕緣值較低。在某些條件下，冰線以下的泡沫可能存在水分積聚的風險。實驗數據表明，這種水分積累可能會降低有效 R 值高達 35%-44%

2. 大板

polyISO(R6.5@1")，在grade即0C以下性能降低、EPS(R5，常為粉色，可用於地基外側)、XPS(常見白色封裝泡沫或bead board，密度低)。適合slab下用的有R6MAX DURASHEATH/RMAX THERMASHEATH但不好買，R6。

4. 外牆

Exterior insulation and finishing systems (EIFS) are used on commercial and residential buildings alike. EIFS is sometimes called synthetic stucco, and there are two types of EIFS: PB (polymer-based, 99%) systems and PM (polymer-modified) systems.Zip system是外塗防水料的OSB，而Zip R是內置隔熱層的Zip system。後者與噴塗外牆板裏側的可能問題一樣，就是如果隔熱層不夠厚，那室內熱濕空氣將在隔離麵冷凝，水將順著隔離麵-例如Zip R的內側麵流下到地上。因此密封好的房子必須有足夠的通風，通常是麵積/150，風扇常是不停的；這似乎又違反了建造初衷。

外牆目前看來還是5/8 OSB、5/8-inch T & G lumber或1/2膠合板，vapor barrier後1/4 fiber cement。

5. Slab

6. 屋頂

self-adhering roofing是卷狀的，朝上一麵類似shingle，向下一麵是膠層，定位後分半揭去薄塑料層使其粘在屋頂的膠合板上，若與其它材料如瀝青相粘需特殊膠合材料。比較薄，但15年問題不大。

15/32-inch wood structural panels or 11/16-inch T & G softwood再加roof paper和shingle。底層帶鋁箔的1/2 OSB似乎更好，但也可以直接用5mm雙麵鋁箔隔熱膜，後者R6左右。
