哲學巨擘蘇格拉底被民主處死，而他的徒孫另一位哲學巨擘卻被專製的獨裁者尊為私人老師。亞曆山大一生的顯赫作為有多少要歸功於他的老師的教誨恐怕是難以估量的。但是，如果因此而得出結論說專製比民主更喜歡哲學和智慧，那就過於簡單了。在中國的幾千年的專製曆史上不乏焚書禁書和文字獄的例子，那顯然是不利於獨立思想的發展因而也不利於哲學的發展和傳播的[閱讀全文]
