老鷹樂隊（Eagles）是20世紀1970年代早期成立於美國洛杉磯的一支搖滾樂團體。擁有7張專輯與29支單曲。依RIAA統計，Eagles1976年發表的精選輯EAGLES/THEIR GREATEST HITS 為美國史上銷量最高專輯，超過2900萬。而在滾石排出的史上最偉大500張專輯，他們另一張專輯《加州旅館》（Hotel California）位於第37位。1998年，老鷹樂團被迎入搖滾名人堂。樂團於1980年一度解散，而於1994年重組，發行了Hell Freezes Over，並開始在各地進行巡回演唱，依然獲得了大量樂迷的支持。老鷹樂隊於2007年推出全新專輯《Long Road Out Of Eden》。

For some, Waiting in the Weeds could simply be seen as a love song, but it represents so much more. It deals with the passing of time, trials and tribulations of love, the music business and the Eagles’ own journey of getting back together. It’s simply amazing how Don Henley and Steuart Smith intertwined all these parts of life into this song. The song could easily be part of someone’s life as it is about the band waiting for the right time to release new material in the ever-changing musical landscape. I thought the song was the retelling of the classic story of the underdog who was simply waiting for his moment to shine.
