養車的煩惱
某天,開得好好的車子亮黃燈了。仔細一看,是發動機指示燈。心道,慘了!人人都說發動機壞了,就要考慮變賣車子。可我的車子才開了三年啊,雖說Mileage有些高。老婆還火上加油,“記得不,李教授的車子發動機壞了送Dealer那裏,修要三千,不修歸元要兩千。”煩死他們兩口子了!
平日裏機油、年檢、刹車、車胎啥的,都是找臨近的小車修店,但發動機斷不可以叫這些個毛屁孩子店修。上次的舊車車禍以後,發動機問題送小店,花了七八百,可沒開幾天同樣的問題又出現了。隻好把它Trade-in了。Dealer那裏,唉,無風三尺浪的地方,想起就心裏發毛。真煩人啊!
我隻有周末才有時間,你找Dealer它還俏得不行,兩個半星期後才有周末空檔。兩周時間在忐忑不安中度過。把車送去後的那一段更是坐立不安。
下午車行來電話了。車Ready To Go。我連忙問,多少錢啊。答曰,一百XX點XX。還以為聽錯了。簽字的時候,仔細一看,真的就一百XX點XX。聽機械師的說明,聽得雲裏霧裏。不過,心裏特高興了,管它雲裏霧裏。
過了一段時間,那個黃燈又亮了!煩人、煩人!不過,這次我冷靜了一點。為什麽這麽新的一個車總容易發動機出問題呢?
我先讀Manual,Manual直截了當,“送Dealer那裏!”穀歌了一下,發現我這車發動機黃燈指示很是Abusively亮起來。例如,它涵蓋燃料使用效率不高。更詳細的實例包括,汽油蓋沒有擰緊以致漏氣。我趕緊查汽油蓋。泥馬!都沒有蓋呢,吊在那裏!
我蓋緊汽油蓋,然後發動汽車,還是亮黃燈。一度的熱情瞬間冷卻下來。“NND,網上的帖子信不得。看來,除了找Dealer,別無途徑。”
令我再次興奮的是,第二天發現那個黃燈自動消失了。原來,車子跟非常老練的老板一樣,需要時間來思考、檢閱、檢驗問題是否已經解決。
而且的而且,通過否定之否定,再次證明,網民帖出來的東東是可信的。但你必須正確理解。
The "Check Engine" light may turn on tomorrow. Did you replace the original cap? You need to order a cap from the dealer in stead of buy one from a store.
The light is called "check Engine". It will have code(s) associated when it is on indicating emission ralated problems on the vehicle. AutoZone can scann the code for customer for free of charge, but not legal to clear the code.
You must have a code of P0445 which is small leaks on evaporate(gas) line (fuel filler/cap open in your case). This code went away (Check Engine Light off also) if there wa no leaks on next drive cycle - which is steady driving greater than some time (10 min for example). To clear this code without scann tool, you have to meet certain criteria, i.e, drive when outside temperature is greater than freeze point. Of course not all vehicles follow this rule (BMW, for example).
