Is this a dream
a fairy tale
a haven of peace?
Or is this a lake
a coral island
a mirage?
Somewhere among the clear ripples
I can see, as if
a fairy beauty
bathing, amidst the mists.
Centuries are gone
Yet Grand Canal
has seen, little changes.
As if, here
time never elapses.
And when darkness falls
the candles in St Marco’s Square
continue to flicker
a streak of, its yesteryears.
Oh, my lovely, Water Beauty
Pearl of Italy
A timeless City.
I wish I were a canoe
that cuts through water beneath the bridge
and sails through the channels
So that, I can trace
A glorious past journey
And a remarkable history.
I want to also
Taste the cool and fresh water
of the Adriatic Sea
So that I will forever
Hold deep in my heart
this charming water city ━
Venice.
