給大家拜年，試譯濟慈的十四行詩一首：The Bright Star

這兩天又看了英文電影The Bright Star，試著把電影中的主題詩翻譯如下，獻給諸位讀者和網友，尤其是戀愛中的人們。

 

 

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art--

Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night

And watching, with eternal lids apart,

Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,

The moving waters at their priestlike task

Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,

Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask

Of snow upon the mountains and the moors--

No--yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,

Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,

To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,

Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,

Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,

And so live ever--or else swoon to death.

 

啊，明星，我多麽想像你一樣堅定---

但不想高懸夜空獨放光明，

像天生不睡覺的隱士那樣，

耐心又永恒地睜大著眼睛，

看著奔騰的海水像教士一樣虔誠

將地球上的人生之岸衝洗幹淨，

或者看著雪落在群山和荒野

給蓋上清新又柔軟的麵紗一層---

不，---但是要更加不變更加守恒，

頭枕在我的美人的豐滿的胸脯上，

永遠感受它那輕柔的起伏不停，

永遠保持那陣甜蜜激動的清醒，

靜靜地、靜靜地傾聽她的呼吸聲，

就這樣要麽永生—--要麽一死而了激情。

 

注： 

1.      這首詩歌就是一句話。作者對永生和永恒的愛情的向往，知道自己病入膏肓後的絕望，以及因為這種衝突而產生的各種細膩感情，都在這一句話裏表達出來了。
