I am glad to learn that everything goes well with you and your family.
10 years passed even before we could realize. How scary it is! When I watched the MV and movie that Taotao played as the hero, I was shocked by how fast time flies. He was only 6 when I first saw him, sweet and shy, at an age not much older than my girl is now. Later I was a little excited to see that the little boy grew up into a handsome young man whom I could barely recognize on the screen, but still with the smile that I was once very familiar with. We don't need to be reminded that we are 10 years older because the next generation could not wait to take over the leading roles! I could not help feeling sad at the same time. When I met you in the lab for the first time, I was only 21, the same age as Taotao is now. How many ten years can a person have in his/her life? Perhaps, the next time when I wake up, my now 2 and half year old is in college as Taotao is now.I was a little scared by this thought but felt that my girl and I had to be lucky enough to have that day.
Back to reality now. Although I forgot lots of details in the passed 10 years, I do feel happy and honored that I spent several most important years of my life with you in the group as your student and have witnessed the growth and thriving of our group. I am so proud that I was part of the group and always cherish those good old days we worked together. Regardless of where I am, my heart is always with you and the group.
As to me, I am not optimistic about the economy and the job market in US. People like my hubby feel lucky to keep their jobs nowadays. I almost give up the hope of getting a decent job around where I live with my current resume after months of effort. Now I am taking classes to get a certificate in order to keep myself active in the field. I am also considering learning something new that might help me get a job. But I am not entirely sure which direction I want to go. So, I am taking time to polish my English this summer, both in oral and in written. I have to refine my language skills to ensure my quality life. I will be taking some fun courses at a local community college in the coming fall. Still do not know where to go and what to do next year. The good thing is while my girl is still little, I am lucky to get the chance to spend quality time with her. I am also lucky to have my hu*****and's full support, fiscally and mentally. I am hoping that my staying at home could somewhat enrich the lives of my family.
By the way, have you gotten a chance to watch the MV and movie that Taotao played? I am totally surprised by how liberal the young generation in China is. Taotao looks glamorous in the movies,shining and sparkling like a real movie star. His face is totally a copy of his Mom. But he has got your nose. Too sad. That is the only part I could find from his face that I could see your genes. I am just kidding! I am just wondering that many years ago, did you also wander around the same campus as a tall and skinny while refined-behavior young student? I just tried hard to put you about 30 years younger back onto the same campus when I watched the movie Taotao played. And I tried to imagine a pure love story between you and your then girlfriend/now wife on campus. Am I right that the girl in the MV and movie is Taotao then girlfriend you mentioned to me last year? She looks hard to control though. I am glad that Taotao made the right decision to finish their relationship. hehe. I know, I am getting a little too talktive. hehe. I shut up now and give you a break. Couldn't help gossiping with you as a terribly bored and isolated middle-aged housewife.
