We had a high corporate official coming to our site for a visit and sharing his view of the company. At teh QA session, someone asked about how to provide better compensation to retain employees. He expressed that compensation is being addressed but emphasized that employees usually do not leave because of compensation. The reasons are 1. career development; 2. issues with supervisor. employees leave mostly because of mistreatment. His words almost brought tears to my eyes and raised all the problems I have with my management.
The fundamental issue is mistreatment. I feel being mistreated and not rewarded properly. I responded in a negative way towards them and they responded with even worse mistreatment. This new round of performance review probably will be the same. I can foresee my boss will give me a reason taht I did nto make great achievement despite all the progress I made in the two programs I am respon*****ile for. This reason was used once two years ago.
frankly, at this point, I have completely given up hope for any career dev. in this group and seek other positions. But I want to make changes here. I want to arrange a meeting with 2 level managers and HR rep for clarification of reasons on no promotion. Am I being crazy here to involve HR just for a promotion? I feel that this is beyond simply just a promotion now. It is a personal bias from the management against me. If it was an issue of misunderstanding and lack of communication, I think now it has become personal bias.
Does anyone here have suggestions besides just give-up?
