4月10日，美國聯邦航空管理局表示，美國航空公司一架飛機在華盛頓裏根國家機場跑道上滑行時與另一架美國航空公司飛機的機翼尖相撞。
據悉，其中一架飛機載有美國國會議員，事故沒有造成人員傷亡。美國聯邦航空管理局將對此次事件展開調查。
今年以來，華盛頓裏根國家機場附近發生多次事故。美東時間1月29日晚，美國一架載有64人的客機與美軍一架載有3人的直升機相撞墜河，無人生還。3月28日，一架達美航空空客A319客機在從裏根國家機場起飛時，與一架美國空軍T-38噴氣機險些相撞，駕駛艙內碰撞警報響起。
