《紐約郵報》報導，現年59歲的王珍娜（Jenna Wang，音譯）周一接受電話採訪時透露，她當年瘋狂愛上了華茲，當時他還是佛山的一名年輕高中英語教師。王珍娜原本期待，這段熱戀最後會以求婚收場，但結果卻是分手，這令她一度萌生輕生的念頭。
