瑤池聖火 2.2.2 Holy Fire in Yao Pond

武二郎（如圖2.2.2-36）和護衛來到了停戰協議書中指定的地點等待鞭刑。熬忖派來的人對他說：“張將軍，請你跟我們走吧！” 又對武二郎的護衛說：“你們回去吧，三天後的這個時間來這兒接張將軍回去！”

武二郎跟著熬忖的士兵走向山頂，很快就走到了雲彩的上麵，來到了一處山頂平地。過來了一個老頭兒，微笑著對他說：“有膽量，是條漢子！我的道號是太乙（如圖38）。從現在起，由我來照顧你。行刑前，你想吃點什麽？”

武二郎回答：“隨便！”

侍女先端來了一盤水泡過後的幹蘑菇。太乙說：“大元帥熬忖要求你吃下這盤蘑菇！”

武二郎毫不猶豫地吃起了蘑菇，有些嚼不動。侍女過來幫著把蘑菇撕得一條一條的。然後，侍女又端來了瑤人的飯菜。

Martial Second Wolf (see fig. 2.2.2-36) and his guards arrived at the place designated in the armistice agreement to wait for the caning. The people sent by Aocun said to him, "General Zhang, please come with us!" They also said to Second Wolf's guards, "You can go back. Come here to pick up General Zhang at this time in three days!"

Martial Second Wolf followed Aocun's soldiers to the top of the mountain, and soon they were above the clouds and came to a flat area on the top of the mountain. Overcame an old man who smiled and said to him, “Gutsy, a man of honor! My Daoist fame is Taiyi (as in Figure 38). From now on, I will take care of you. What would you like to eat before the execution?”

Martial Second Wolf replied: "Whatever!"

The maid brought a plate of dried mushrooms that had been soaked in water. Taiyi said, “The Grand Marshal Aocun demands that you eat this plate of mushrooms!”

Martial Second Wolf ate the mushrooms without hesitation but found it hard to chew. The maid came over to help tear the mushrooms into strips. Then, the maid brought the Yao people's food.

隨後，戰鼓和號角聲響起來了。士兵把武二郎帶到了刑場的一邊，綁到了一根柱子上。太乙笑著對武二郎說：“從現在開始，由我來照顧你，你需要吃的，喝的，告訴我，我喂你。大小便告訴我一聲，我把你用布圍起來。這兒男的女的都有，我們不會傷害你的尊嚴。”

武二郎回答：“謝了！現在不需要！”

Then, the sound of war drums and horns began. The soldiers took Martial Second Wolf to one side of the juristic ground and tied him to a pillar. Taiyi smiled and said to Martial Second Wolf: "From now on, I will take care of you. If you need food or drink, tell me and I will feed you. If you need to urinate or defecate, tell me and I will cover you with a cloth. There are both men and women here, and we will not hurt your dignity."

Martial Second Wolf replied: "Thanks! Not now!"

忽然，站在柱子旁邊的旗手太上老君（如圖37）舉起了打狗旗，並且高喊：“打狗！” 人們從法場周圍的帳篷裏牽出了幾隻狗，開始用鞭子打。到處都是狗淒慘的叫聲。

武二郎問太乙：“說是打我呀！怎麽改成打狗了？”

太乙回答：“他們在打愚鈍無知的畜生！”過了一會兒，太乙問武二郎：“你現在感覺怎麽樣？”

武二郎回答：“感覺身體輕飄飄的，沒什麽特別的！”

太上老君立刻舉起了令旗，高喊：“葫蘆狗！”

刑場上的人們開始在音樂聲中唱歌跳舞了，像似慶祝勝利一樣。天黑了，刑場的周圍燃起了篝火。

Suddenly, the flag bearer, Tai Shang Lao Jun (see fig. 37), who was standing next to the pillar, raised the Beating-dog flag and shouted: “Beat the dogs!” People took out several dogs from the tents around the juristic field and began to beat them with whips. The dogs' miserable cries were heard everywhere.

Martial Second Wolf asked Taiyi beside him: "They said they were going to beat me! Why did they change it to beating the dog?"

Taiyi replied: "They are beating the stupid and ignorant livestock!" After a while, Taiyi asked Martial Second Wolf, "How do you feel now?"

Martial Second Wolf replied: "I feel light and airy, nothing special!"

Tai Shang Lao Jun immediately raised the flag and shouted: "Gourd Dog!"

The people on the juristic field began to sing and dance to the music, as if celebrating a victory. It was dark, and bonfires were lit around the execution ground.

過了一段時間，太乙喂了武二郎一羹匙醋，問： “什麽味道？”

武二郎回答：“酸！醋還能有什麽別的味道！”

又過了一會兒，太乙又喂了武二郎一羹匙醋，問：“什麽味道？”

武二郎咋吧咂吧嘴，回答：“沒味道！這是什麽東西？”

太乙回答：“還是醋！”旁邊的太上老君立刻舉起了令旗，高呼：“葫蘆娃（相當於佛教的大神天，如圖8）！”人群也跟著歡呼，“葫蘆娃！”然後跪倒參拜。

After a while, Taiyi fed Martial Second Wolf a spoonful of vinegar and asked: "What does it taste like?"

Martial Second Wolf replied: "Sour! What other tastes vinegar can have!"

After a while, Taiyi fed Martial Second Wolf another spoonful of vinegar and asked: "What does it taste like?"

Martial Second Wolf smacked his lips and replied: "No taste! What is this?"

Taiyi replied: "It's still vinegar!" Tai Shang Lao Jun next to him immediately raised the flag and shouted: "Gourd Boy (equivalent to the great god sky in Buddhism, as shown in Figure 8)!" The crowd also cheered, "Gourd Boy!" and then knelt to worship.

又過了一會兒，太乙問武二郎：“你聽見什麽沒？”

武二郎仔細聽，然後閉上眼睛聽，說：“葫蘆絲（一種樂器，如圖35所示）！”

太乙說，“你睜開眼睛看看，然後再聽。”

武二郎睜開眼睛向四周看，沒人演奏葫蘆絲，說：“我還是聽見有人在吹葫蘆絲！你聽不見嗎？”

太乙回答：“我聽不見！” 旁邊的太上老君立刻舉起了令旗，高呼，“葫蘆絲（相當於佛教的光音天，此天以光為語言而得名，參見插圖7）！”法場上變得鴉雀無聲，人們開始比畫著，說啞語。

After a while, Taiyi asked Martial Second Wolf: "Did you hear anything?"

Martial Second Wolf listened carefully, then closed his eyes and said: "Hulusi (i.e., Gourd Silk, A musical instrument, as shown in Figure 35)!"

Taiyi said, "Open your eyes and then listen again."

Martial Second Wolf opened his eyes and looked around. No one was playing Hulusi. He said: "I still hear someone playing Hulusi! Can't you hear it?"

Taiyi replied: "I can't hear it!" Tai Shang Lao Jun next to him immediately raised the flag and shouted, "Hulusi (equivalent to the Buddhist Light Sound Sky, which is named after light as the language, see Figure 7)!" The juristic field became silent, and people began to gesture and speak in sign language.

過了一會兒，太乙又問：“你感覺怎麽樣？”

武二郎回答：“我感覺很好笑，就是想笑！”

旁邊的旗手又舉起了令旗，高呼，“極樂世界（相當於佛教的三禪天，如圖6）！”

法場上的人們都開始哈哈大笑，歡慶。

After a while, Taiyi asked again: "How do you feel?"

Martial Second Wolf replied: "I feel very funny; I just want to laugh!"

The flag bearer next to him raised the flag and shouted, "Bliss World (equivalent to the third meditation sky of Buddhism, as shown in Figure 6)!"

The people in the juristic field began to laugh and celebrate.

過了一會兒，太乙又說：“你還在嗎？看見了什麽沒有？”

武二郎回答：“我還在，但我的身體沒了，看見山坡上有棵死樹！”

太乙回答：“我來看守你的身體，你放心地去吧！”

旗手舉起了青黃赤白旗，高呼，“吉祥（是上帝的別名；相當於佛教的四禪天，如圖5）！”

法場上的人們都靜止不動了，像似雕像一樣。”

After a while, Taiyi asked: "Are you still there? Did you see anything?"

Martial Second Wolf replied: "I am still here, but my body is gone. I saw a dead tree on the hillside!"

Taiyi replied: "I will take care of your body. You can go without worry!"

The flagman raised the “turquoise, yellow, red, and white” flag and shouted, "Auspicious (Another name for God; equivalent to the fourth meditation sky in Buddhism, as shown in Figure 5)!" The people on the juristic ground were motionless, like statues.

注2.1，武二郎從四禪天（如圖5）就進入了四種金剛智的境界（如圖 4至1）。有興趣的讀者可以參見第12章《禪》和14.1節《集起》。本故事講述女媧造人。當人進入圖4至1的狀態後，那種純異熟果等流相續的狀態（純思想意識狀態）的事物會殺死以前的記憶。女媧和熬忖，這兩位天女知道武二郎會失去一段記憶，所以提前設計出了處理辦法，故事就變得離奇了。

Note 2.1, from the Fourth Meditation Sky (see Fig. 5), Martial Second Wolf enters the four “philosopher stone intelligence” states (see figs. 4 to 1). Interested readers are referred to Chapter 12, Meditation, and Section 14.1, Aggregate Arousal. This story is about Nuwa's creation of man. When one enters the state of Figures 4 to 1, affairs and things in those states of purely “mutant fruits succeeding continually” (i.e. pure mind) will kill previous memories. Nuwa and Aocun, the two goddesses, knew that Martial Second Wolf would lose a period of his memory, so they designed a solution in advance, then the story became bizarre.

不知道過去了多長時間，法場上的人忽然聽見被綁在柱子上的武二郎哈哈大笑。旁邊的旗手立刻站直了，舉起了令旗，高呼，“極了世界（如圖6）！”人們又開始哈哈大笑，唱歌跳舞了。

過了一會兒，旁邊照顧武二郎的太乙高聲問：“張將軍，你聽見什麽了？”

武二郎仔細地聽了聽，說，“鳥叫聲！它一直叫個不停！”

旁邊的旗手放下了極樂旗，又舉起了葫蘆絲旗，高呼：“葫蘆絲（如圖7）！”

法場上人們又開始使用肢體語言。

After an unknown amount of time, the people on the juristic ground suddenly heard Martial Second Wolf, who was tied to the pillar, laughing loudly. The flag bearer next to him immediately stood up, raised the flag, and shouted, "Bliss World (as shown in Figure 6)!" People started laughing, singing and dancing again.

After a while, Taiyi, who was taking care of Martial Second Wolf, asked loudly: "General Zhang, what did you hear?"

Martial Second Wolf listened carefully and said, "The sound of a bird! It keeps chirping!"

The flag bearer next to him put down the Bliss flag and raised the Hulusi flag, shouting: "Hulusi (as shown in Figure 7)!"

People on the juristic ground began to use body language again.

過了一會兒，太乙一邊喂醋給武二郎，一邊不停地向武二郎使眼色，讓他看法場周圍的雲彩，意思是，“這裏是在山頂上！” 然後問：“什麽味道？”

武二郎回答：“沒償出來！” 旗手舉起了葫蘆娃旗（如圖8），人們又開始對他跪拜。這時，法場上開始有人暈倒了，被抬了下去。

After a while, the old man fed Martial Second Wolf vinegar while winking at him, telling him to look at the clouds around the field, meaning, "This is on the top of the mountain!" Then he asked loudly, "What does it taste like?"

Martial Second Wolf replied, "Nothing!" The flag bearer raised the Gourd Boy flag (see fig. 8), and people began to kneel at him again. At this time, people began to faint on the juristic field and were carried away.

旗手忽然有事，離開了。太乙一邊端著羹匙喂武二郎醋，一邊低聲叨咕，“武將軍，你得罪人了，他們在用你祭天。我是你的一位故人，名字是太乙，是特意趕來救你的。你別亂說話。” 太上老君回來了，太乙高聲問：“什麽味道？”

武二郎回答: “好像是醋，有點酸！”

太上老君又舉起了葫蘆狗旗，高呼，“葫蘆狗！勝利！” 這時，法場上又有人暈倒了。法場的主持人叫停了儀式。

The flag bearer suddenly had something to do and left. The old man held a spoon to feed Martial Second Wolf vinegar, while muttering, "General Zhang, you have offended people, they are using you to sacrifice to the sky. I am an old friend of yours; my name is Taiyi (i.e., Strictly Second), and I came here specially to save you. Don't talk nonsense. The flag bearer came back, and Taiyi asked loudly: "What does it taste like?"

Martial Second Wolf replied: "It seems to be vinegar, a little sour!"

The flag bearer raised the Gourd Dog flag again and shouted slogans such as " Gourd Dog! Victory!" At this time, someone fainted again on the juristic field. The host of the juristic field stopped the ceremony.

2.2.2-4

不一會兒，太乙端著碗出來了，高聲說：“我去給被綁在柱子上的那位喂點吃的！”說著他來給武二郎喂飯，看四周沒人，低聲說，“武將軍，我是你的故人，是你三弟張屠戶的合作夥伴。我是豬肉商，聽說你有難，特地來救你。我已經用一大筆錢買通了關係。一會兒，你假裝暈倒，他們會送你去洗澡。你假裝吃不下東西，會有人給你一碗蜜水。蜜水可以使你迅速恢複體力。這裏是高山頂，沒體力你下不去。然後，我們的一位女士扮成熬忖，你配合她行動。你們倆就堂皇地走回到你的駐地！”太乙說完後，又重複了一遍全部的注意事項。

武二郎問：“我走了，你們怎麽辦？”

太乙回答：“您走了，我們就離開了。我們都說好了，‘我們是一起來的，要一起回去！’”

After a while, Taiyi came out with a bowl and said loudly, "I'm going to feed the one tied to the pillar!" As he said that, he came to feed Martial Second Wolf, and seeing that there was no one around, he whispered, "General Zhang, I'm an old friend of yours, and a partner of your third brother, Zhang the Butcher. I'm a pork merchant, and I heard that you were in trouble, so I came here to save you. I have bought off the relationship with a large sum of money. In a while, you pretend to faint, and they will send you to take a bath. You pretend that you can't eat, and someone will give you a bowl of honey water. Honey water can quickly restore your strength. This is the top of a high mountain, and you can't go down without strength. Then, one of our ladies will dress up as Aocun, and you cooperate with her. The two of you will walk back to your base in a dignified manner!" After Taiyi finished speaking, he repeated all the precautions.

Martial Second Wolf asked: "What will you do if I leave?"

Taiyi replied: "After you leave, we will leave. We agreed that 'we came together, and we will leave together!'"

2.2.2-5

太乙忽然大叫：“柱子暈倒了！” 武二郎立刻假裝暈了。人們出來看熱鬧。主持人吩咐把武二郎抬去洗洗，吃點兒水果。幾個侍女為武二郎洗澡，喂他吃水果。武二郎像是睡著了似的，不吃。侍女們說，“他中暑了，趕快抬到床上去。”

終於，一個侍女端著一碗蜜進來了，還對他使了個眼色。武二郎迅速地喝下了蜜水，很快就真的睡著了。

Taiyi suddenly shouted, "Pillar fainted!" Martial Second Wolf immediately pretended to faint. People came out to watch the fun. The host ordered Martial Second Wolf to be carried away to wash and eat some fruit. Several maids bathed Martial Second Wolf and fed him fruit. Martial Second Wolf seemed to be asleep and refused to eat. The maids said, "He has heatstroke, quickly carry him to bed."

Finally, a maid came in with a bowl of honey and winked at him. Martial Second Wolf quickly drank the honey water and soon fell asleep.
