危峰高瞰楚江幹，楚江這裏是指湘江，嶽麓山在其西岸。

許淵衝譯成：The frowning peak overlooks the southern riverside 

 

平沙 vast sand plain

許譯: flat sand

淺草翻譯成grass就行。許譯：shallow grass。

 

落日孤城隔水看，看在這裏是平聲，守護的意思，不是看見。夕陽下隔著湘江嶽麓寺和長沙互相陪伴。

許淵衝譯成：The town across the stream at sunset can be seen

萬樹鬆杉雙徑合，四山風雨一僧寒。

平沙淺草連天遠，落日孤城隔水看。

A serpentine footpath winds up the spiral hill.

Two pathways meet among the pines and firs green-dyed;

Amid the wind and rain a lonely monk feels chill.

Flat sand and shallow grass stretch as far as the skies;

The town across the stream at sunset can be seen.

Northern and southern countries come into my eyes;

To hear the partridges sing alone on rails I lean.
