A Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) Project
A PIR, or passive infrared sensor, is a device that detects changes in infrared radiation emitted by objects, commonly used for motion detection in security systems, automatic lighting, and other applications. (From Gemini).
A PIR sensor can be used in a microcontroller project to trigger some actions such as a door open, a camera shutter release etc.
In this project, a PIR sensor senses the IR from a hand, sends an input to an optocoupler which triggers the release of power of a red LED light.
