3 minutes left, one point difference, and it was all achieved by the second unit. If it ain\'t broken, don\'t fix it. D\'Antoni is loyal to his players, Lin included. He starts and finishes with the same set. Oh boy, how that backfired today!
Lin and Melo entered the game with 3 minutes left. The first possession, Lin just got himself trapped right after crossing mid court. That was definitely NOT a heads-up play. Crunch time, how do you get trapped right away? He threw it to Novak, who threw up an ill-advised prayer wayyyy behind the arc. Then it\'s just downhill rest of the way. Dallas are making shots, Melo was nowhere to see. Knicks were losing balls left and right. Linsanity at the defensive end, well, he was always 5 feet away from the guard he was supposed to cover.
The first unit failed, collectively. Dallas didn\'t play a great game. Knicks had their chance, but D\'Antoni blew it by staying loyal with Lin and Melo. Lin and Melo let him down big time in the last 3 mins.
Lin is NOT the scapegoat of this game, but 4-13, nothing remarkable at orchestrating the offense, and still lacking at defense, that is certainly nothing to brag about either. For fans to point fingers and lay blames on teammates or coach is beyond belief.
