For Interlaken area, I know Rick Steves book recommends staying at Gimmelwald or Murren, but they are kind of hard to get to, so we stayed at Lauterbrunnen for 2 nights and checked out Gimmelwald and Murren this afternoon.
1. Train ride from Lucerne to Interlaken.
2. From our hotel room balcony in Lauterbrunnen, we could see the 297 meters (974 ft.) Staubbach Fall.
3. Took a local bus to see the Trümmelbach Falls, which is a giant waterfall inside a mountain (11 CHF pp, cash only, no Swiss Travel Pass discount). It is really cool, totally worth it.

To get to Gimmelwald, you have to take a cable car, and my gosh Gimmelwald is beautiful!

7. Gimmelwald.
8. Murren (requires another cable car ride up). It is pretty too, but it is clearly more developed / commercialized than Gimmelwald.
9. To go back down to Lauterbrunnen, you could take a different route which is train + cable car down, and the whole loop is covered by Swiss Travel Pass.
10. A beautiful cemetery in Lauterbrunnen by the Staubbach Fall.
11. Staubbach Fall again.
