Sintra needs at least a full day, two if you have it. We went there in a day, and visited Sintra National Palace, Pena National Palace and Moorish Castle. The Regaleira Palace is supposed to be really good too, but we didn't have time to visit it.
1. Sintra City Hall.
2. Walking to Sintra National Palace. It is about a 10 - 15 minutes walk from the train station. Moorish Castle is up in the mountains.
