Ever since I saw a picture of the Pulpit Rock online, I know I want to go there someday, and this year I made it. Our original itinerary included 4 cities in 2 countries:
Day 1: Fly to Oslo.
Day 2: Arrive in Oslo in the morning. Oslo sightseeing.
Day 3: Oslo sightseeing.
Day 4: Taking the 'Norway in a nutshell' trip from Oslo to Bergen.
Day 5: Bergen sightseeing.
Day 6: Taking a boat from Bergen to Stavanger.
Day 7: Hiking the Pulpit Rock.
Day 8: Hiking the Kjerag if we could find a way to get to the trail head.
Day 9: Stavanger sightseeing. Fly to Stockholm in the afternoon.
Day 10 - 13: Stockholm sightseeing.
Day 14: Fly home from Stockholm.
After arriving in Stavanger, we found out that the bus to Kjerag was done for the season (ended around mid-August, just days before our arrival). If we want to go there, we had to rent a car and drive 2 hours one way to the trail head ourselves. Considering Kjerag is a much harder hike than the Pulpit Rock, we didn't think it is feasible for us to do the driving and hiking all by ourselves in one day, so Day 8's plan changed to Stavanger sightseeing later.
1. The Pulpit Rock.
2. Kjerag Boulder. I don't think I dare to do that even if I can make it to the boulder.
