Mytelephoneisdisconnected.在強調一個單詞或一個意思時，我們經常聽到的有以下三種方式：louder,longerandwithhigherpitch.讀的聲音高一點，聲音拉長一點，high－pitch中文很少對應的翻譯，可能是因為（說）中文很少使用這個手段，但英語確是太普遍了，暫且把它叫做聲頻（或音頻）吧，因為它於音的頻率有關。(pitch->frequency)。

PitchandVolume(2)-High-pitchedforemphasisofwordswithinasentence舉個例子：IamINterestedintheDIfference,這兒的"DI"用加大音量來過渡到結束。獅吼的聲音就是大音量大聲音。
IamVERYHappytoMEETyou.前者highpitch,後者highvolume.大家注意到沒有，這個是INterested用升高pitch來表示強調的，也就是讀成高頻來強調。在這裏再加一點，在句子中強調的音節時通常用高頻的方式來實現，句子結束時強調的音節用音量[閱讀全文]

這個句子是在DavidAlanStern的教材裏摘錄的句子。他的jump-upandstep-downintonation很好。他說句子中重要的單詞用jump-upinpitch的方式來實現；結束的時候降低pitch。但我覺得除了降低pitch外，還要適當的加大音量，然後結束。還是那上麵的句子為例：
