A cotton-lined robe is urged by the biting air,
To the nigh outskirt a cane aids my walk with care.
The most prying person is none but autumn wind,
Who’d fain redden the maples and whiten my hair.

To the nigh outskirt on a cane my walk relies.
The most prying person is none but autumn wind,
The maples red and my hair white it keenly dyes.
