寒蟬淒切，
對長亭晚，

下片寫別後的層層設想，淋漓盡致地表達了惆悵的心理和真摯感人的戀情。“多情自古傷離別，更那堪、冷落清秋節。”悲傷離別，自古皆然，然而在冷落的清秋時話別，更使人憔悴。
The second part of the poem depicts a whole bunch of envisagement, that the poet vividly and incisively expresses his disconsolate emotion and sincere and touching amour with his girlfriend. “多情自古傷離別，更那堪、冷落清秋節” bidding farewell has been emotional since ancient times, however, saying good-bye in the chilly fall is even more heartbroken.
“今宵酒醒何處？楊柳岸，曉風殘月。” 前句以設問的句式，提出愁飲醉醒之後設想蘭舟夜發所到達的不能確知的地點。後兩句以猜度的語氣，明確的語言，說明蘭舟第二天清晨到達的地點是“曉風殘月”的楊柳岸邊。
“今宵酒醒何處？楊柳岸，曉風殘月。” the previous line is to question that after being melancholy drunk, the poet wonders if he still could ascertain the destination that the boat is about to voyage to. in the next 2 verses, the conjecturing tone and clear language are applied here, so to explain that, the next morning, the boat will arrive at a place name the morning breeze and lingering moon right beside the willow shore, only after the poet wakes up.
醒後隻有柳岸、晚風、殘月，身旁並無朝夕相處的情人，這種設想中的眼中之景而又包含景外之人的手法，將別後淒涼寂寞的想象和遠離京都、飄泊江湖的感受生動反映了出來。“此去經年，應是良辰好景虛設。”“經年”，寫明了離別時間之長久，“虛設”，暗示出別後心情之苦痛。“良辰好景” ，尚且感到形同虛設；如果遇上酷暑嚴寒，那就更難想象了。“便縱有千種風情，更與何人說！”即算有很多很多的情意，將向誰傾訴呢！用蘊含深情的語調，傳達出彼此關切的心情。這種傾吐真情實感的筆墨，具有扣人心弦的魅力。
After I wake up, I will only see the willow shore, evening breeze and the dim moonlight, but my girlfriend who has been with me together every day will not be there. The method of describing the scene in imagination includes the person outside of the scene vividly reflects the sad imagination that after being parting and far away from the capital city, the poet might be leading a vagrant life with a disconsolate mood, 此去經年，應是良辰好景虛設”for years” indicates that they would be apart for quite a long time. “in vain”，this hints the painful mood of after leaving each other. “良辰好景” without you, even in the mild weather and the happy occasions I might feel that my life is a waste of time and lonely no mention when encountering the extreme heat and cold in the summer and winter time. “便縱有千種風情，更與何人說！” Although I have tons of affection I don’t know who I should talk to. In a deeply affectionate tone the poet conveys out the emotion of caring of each other. These words are pouring out the poet’s true feelings that deeply move the readers.
