ＭＭ的中文班上，有１８個小朋友，年齡從６歲到１８歲不等，是在美國出生的來自港台大陸的第二代。上完一年的周末中文課海外教材，ＭＭ布置作業，讓每個小朋友花２０分鍾時間畫一個自己的肖像畫，並隨便寫點東西介紹一下自己。其中來上課的１６個小朋友的肖像都畫得不錯，可是寫出來的文字，則讓人捧腹：
１、我喜歡朋友，我喜歡魚，我是ＸＸＸ（in English）。
２、Wo jiao XXX（in English）。
３、名字：ＸＸＸ，生日：九／四／九四，我會寫漢字，我喜歡遊泳。
４、Hi, my name is XXX and this is a picture of my family, my mom, dad, and me. We are happy in the picher（picture）. We love each other so we are happy. Tommorrow is Mothor's Day and I am going to give my mother a special gift. She love flowers, so I will give her a flower。
５、我，ＸＸＸ（in English）。（生日：）May 2, 1994, （運動：）skateboard。
６、我的名字是ＸＸ。我是Ａ女。我的生日是９－５－０６。我的habbie是彈鋼琴，玩電腦，玩朋友（右）。
７、about (About) me and myself. My birthday is jan 17th. And that is when I am 9. I am a boy. My hobbie is playing soccer. First let me tell you I was really good at soccer。我會寫漢字。我會right一二三四五六七八九十。
８、我叫ＸＸＸ（in English），我是一個女的。
９、ＸＸＸ（in English），女。生日9/1/96。（運動）遊泳，（家庭）爸爸媽媽姐姐。（動物）貓。（顏色）綠。
１０、名字：ＸＸＸ （中文），男（女），生日：XX/XX/XX。要好：art and drawing。家：XX，me, dad, mom。
１１、我的名字：ＸＸＸＸＸ（in English），我是一個男（女），我的生日：八／五／一九九六。我的愛好：遊泳。我的家：爸爸、媽媽、姐姐、和妹妹。我的假（期）其：Sea World, Disney World, and Disney Land.
１２、My Chinese Name (name) is XXXX. My parents (’) name is (are) XXX, and XXXX. I was born on january （January）11th. I was born as a good man not a bad man. It is fun to play all day but I have to work. My name is XXXXX. My faviourite color is red. red (Red) is the color of the sun.

其中很多小鬼子，不願意或不會寫自己的中文名字，例如第２位。也有的小朋友，漢語寫的很好，例如第１、３、６、１１、１３位。有的連英文也寫的不好，有的則屬於懶散型的，例如第１４、１６位。
哎，小鬼子們不喜歡做中文作業，也是一個問題。
