美國佛羅裏達州拉果市（Largo）在6月25日遭到龍卷風侵襲，76歲的梅特勒（Deborah Mettler）當時躲在屋內，仍遭時速110英裏（約177公裏）的龍卷風“連屋帶人”吹至空中。幸運的是15秒過後她平安落地，僅有臉部、四肢擦傷，梅特勒驚呼：“不知道怎麽回事，我突然就在空中翻來滾去...”

鄰居凱西（Kathy）向當地媒體WFTS-TV提供住家外側監視器畫麵，梅特勒的屋子被強風吹離地麵約15秒後重摔回地，場麵相當驚險。鄰居在混亂中發現梅特勒，趕緊將她扶起，帶離災難現場。凱西表示：“她能活下來，真的令人難以置信！”

梅特勒受訪表示：“這就像《綠野仙蹤》（The Wizard of OZ）的場景！但我當時沒意識到自己真的被吹到空中，我在房內翻滾，被撞來撞去。”她心有餘悸的說：

“如果我還待在那間房沒有試著逃出，不知道會發生什麽事……”
