美國權威雜誌《綜藝周刊》日前選出2007年度十大注目演員，《色，戒》的新人女主角湯唯有份入圍，她飾演的王佳芝是《色》片的靈魂人物，並要分身飾演引誘易先生(梁朝偉飾)的麥太太，難度甚高。
日前，正在英國參加倫敦電影節的湯唯透露，最初麵試時狀態欠佳，但由於她全情投入，加上導演李安看出她脆弱的一麵，才在1000名候選者中脫穎而出。對於被議論得最多的床戲，湯唯表示自己什麽都沒有想過，她認為《色戒》突破尺度是華語片的一個進步，是用肢體語言來突出電影藝術，這樣觀眾才能更明晰。
她還表示：“李安導演的要求實在是很高，在他的挖掘與壓力下，我們每個人都在成長。”她同時表示，目前還沒有接拍新片，還在等下一個角色，希望是像《色戒》一樣富有挑戰性的角色。

此次入圍十大注目演員的還有西部片《決鬥猶馬鎮》的本-福斯特，他在影片中飾演反派羅素-克洛的手下，奸得令人心寒；之前，他還參演過《X戰警3》，飾演一名長有翅膀的戰警。此外，入圍的還有主演傳記電影《Control》的男主角山姆-雷利、本-阿弗列克導演處女作《失蹤人口》的女星艾米-瑞恩、與布拉德-皮特同台演出《刺殺神槍手》的保羅-施奈德等。
