《牧場上的家》是一首經典的牛仔歌曲，有時被稱為美國西部的“非正式頌歌”。堪薩斯州史密斯縣的布魯斯特M. 希格利博士(也拚寫為Highley)在1872年或1873年寫下了這首詩“我的西部家園”，至少有一個來源表明這首詩早在1871年就寫了。
1947年6月30日，《牧場上的家》成為堪薩斯州的州歌。2010年，美國西部作家協會(Western Writers of America)的成員將它選為有史以來最受歡迎的100首西部歌曲之一。
