Dear Dr. K,
It was a great experience to get interviewed by you by being asked “what questions do you have for me” at the very beginning instead of the well known and well prepared “tell me about yourself”. I am happy that I have a chance to show who I am both in academic aspect and in personal aspect. This is who I am, you like it or not, it is true and natural. I think you are a fantastic interviewer, who can let people show the true themselves and let them feel comfortable at the same time. It would be a blessing to be able to work with people like you.
I am the young man who lives in XXX, plays volleyball, an easy-going person, previously trained in XXX, having strong research background in genetic study, and above all, showed sincerely interest in this program.
Thank you very much for interviewing me and showing me the laboratory and people that I could work with once I have been accepted by this program. I also thank you for mentioning other possibilities that fits my background and career goal of becoming a psychiatrist with research potential. I did a research on the K award you mentioned to me. I figured what you meant is K23 from National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). This might very well be something we could work on eventually.
I truly hope I can join this program and have the opportunity to work closely with you in the coming year.
Best Regards
Sincerely
Riverside
