奧巴馬的亞洲行（越南，八強峰會），最主要的目的無疑是處處給中國叫陣，可以說叫到門口了，實在難以想象美國還想要什麽。

 

周末人民幣再次震蕩：

 

有人暗喻這是中國給美國的一個提示，別嚷得太凶了。

 

對此，美國人的回應是：

中國計即將立南海防空識別區Beijing ready to impose air defence identification zone in South China Sea pending US moves
這是南華早報剛剛發的消息，來自解放軍內線。然而中國可以以此為籌碼，在綜合全局衡量得失後在此問題上做出“延遲”的讓步，不放棄，但可以接受暫不實行。

 

 

耶魯大學法學院“司徒”（Potter Stewart）憲法學教授，蔡崇信中國研究中心主任（Director, the Paul Tsai China Center）葛巍子（Paul Gewirtz）在布魯金斯學會撰文：

Limits of law in the South China Sea

此文針對國際法庭（聯合國常設仲裁法院）即將就菲律賓的申訴做出判決而作，給申訴的依據是聯合國海洋法公約。中國已明言不會理會，而美國則敦促中國接受此一判決。諷刺的是，美國並沒有正式接納聯合國海洋法公約。

葛巍子將南海衝突實質明寫為“中美南海爭霸之爭”（The great geopolitical question of our age, whether the United States as the established dominant superpower can co-exist with a re-emerging powerful China, sits on the sea’s horizon like a huge and taunting Cheshire Cat[柴郡貓]）。
