以前不明白美國大學為什麽不給（至少極少明了的給）

merit based scholarship. 現在想想很有道理。否則學校就需要定一個標準。大學錄取如果有了明確的標準（比如分數線），該大學就死了。

不是 BSO, 家裏小孩常常被學校推薦得這個獎那個獎，我始終沒有搞明白是為什麽。我跟校長老師談過一兩次，也不得要領。

我從來沒有刻意跟老師校長套關係，送大禮。我覺得那樣是對人家的藐視(insult). 

當然，我對老師讚美感謝還是有的, 比如：

收到女兒英文老師的email後我給老師的reply:
