Route 1 Driving

I drove to the sea shore, to a town called Santa Cruz. It was approaching dusk. I was so quietly excited while I could not see anything but the sky far away, after passing the up hill road, I was there, shore of the Pacific.

Along the shore, I drove out for a few minutes and found a spot and parked the car, approaching the shore and looked down. Two gigantic pieces of rock rest at the side, the rock probably is as big as 1/3 of a city block, several big sea birds standing on top of it, doing nothing. A seagull was wandering above the rock, doing nothing. The water and the sky were both grayish blue. The sea breeze was blowing my hair. Everything was so moist including my eyes for a moment, I thought about something. The sun was not high, hiding its yellow face behind the cloud, below it, several endless layers of light pink hanging with the grey cloud. There were several young boys playing on the small pieces of rocks, making martial arts positions.

I got on the car, and drove, along Route 1. Route 1 goes from Oregon to Mexico. Along the way, the dusk got deeper and deeper, layers of light pink turned to layers of dark red.
I kept on driving, passing a lighthouse, passed all man made structures and passing structures only founded by nature: vast green grass covered with yellow dandelion; green hills with steep but narrow valley in between. It became completely dark, I could only see the headlights of coming cars, and didn't take a peak at the Pacific at my side.

I reached half moon bay and pumped gas, and made a right turn, to the mountains, driving in forests. The full and clear moon was hanging behind the tree branches. It is full moon today, I thought, I should drive more carefully, I used to make a few silly mistakes on a full moon day. After driving through some roads which runs on the edge of cliff, I joined the sea of cars going home. I am going home.
