感恩節隨想......

 Thanksgiving thoughts...

I am thankful .....
for the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching t.v.
because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.

for the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been
surrounded by friends.

for the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have
enough to eat.

for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the
sunshine.
for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters
that need fixing, because it means I have a home.

for all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means
that we have freedom of speech.

parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it
means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with
transportation.

for my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.

for the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means
that I can hear.

for the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to
wear.

for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it
means I have been capable of working hard.
for the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours, because it
means that I am alive.

and finally.......
for too much e-mail, because it means, I have friends who are thinking
of me.

我感激......
年輕人不洗碗卻坐在電視機旁，
因為他在家而不是留在大街上。

我感激......
我所付的稅款，
那說明我還沒有失業。
我感激......
聚會後需要清潔的髒和亂，
那說明我曾經被朋友所包圍。

我感激......
那穿上稍緊的時裝，
那說明我有足夠的食物。

我感激......
我的影子在看我工作，
那說明我沐浴在陽光之中。

我感激......
草坪需要修剪，窗戶需要清潔，水槽需要修理，
那說明我有一個家。

我感激......
我所聽到的對政府的抱怨，
那說明我們生活在一個可以自由發言的國度。

我感激......
我所能找到的最遠的停車處，
那說明我還能走路並被交通所祝福。

我感激......
那大大的暖氣賬單，
那說明我的生活很溫暖。

我感激......
那個在教堂唱走調聖曲的女人，
因為那說明我的聽力還好。

我感激......
那大堆的需要洗和燙的衣服，
那說明我有足夠穿的衣服。

我感激......
一天下來我有酸又困的肌肉，
那說明我有能力努力的工作了一天。

我感激......
那清晨警報的 鳴向，
因為它表示我還活著。

最後，我感激......
那太多的電子郵件，
那說明我有很多的朋友在想著我......
