Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American adult contemporary and pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer.

He had a string of hit singles in the late 1980s and 1990s, including "Endless Summer Nights", "Right Here Waiting", "Now and Forever", and "Hazard".

Although most of his major hit songs were slow ballads, many of his songs had a classic rock style, such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better," "Satisfied," and "Too Late To Say Goodbye".

Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the US charts.

我個人認為這首歌可以稱得上歐美情歌之最，有一段時間我幾乎天天聽她，百聽不厭。每當我聽到：無論你去哪裏；無論你做什麽；無論結果怎樣；即使我的心都碎了，我都會在這裏等你。。。我的眼淚都會掉下來，這是一種什麽樣的深情厚意，刻骨銘心呀！

我認為在中國的古典詩歌裏也許隻有：我欲與君相知， 長命無絕衰。山無陵， 江水為竭， 冬雷震震， 夏雨雪， 天地合， 乃敢與君絕！方可與之媲美。

而這首歌的中文譯名《此情可待》我卻不喜歡，我認為不夠貼切。因為人們很容易想到它的出處是李商隱的《錦瑟》：錦瑟無端五十弦，一弦一柱思華年。 莊生曉夢迷蝴蝶，望帝春心托杜鵑。 滄海月明珠有淚，藍田日暖玉生煙。 此情可待成追憶，隻是當時已惘然。李商隱的詩是對一段逝去的感情的追憶。而在這首歌裏作者還是希望他們能夠最後修成正果(But in the end if I'm with you.I'll take the chance)。

我比較喜歡大團圓的結局，這首歌裏雖然有情人間撕心裂肺的離別之痛，但在結尾處還是給人們留下了希望。這就象當你喝一口濃茶，滿口皆苦，但苦過之後卻回味甘甜。也許這就是我為什麽喜歡這首歌的原因。
