旅興 （Wayfarer's Heart）

 

愛此黃金月，江南魚蟹肥。

主人殷勤勸，美意不可違。

 

久旅烽煙定，故交義氣飛。

相逢堪宿話，莫負塞鴻歸。

 

筆墨當窗走，詩腸任子揮。

鬆花湮石壁，野興襲紅衣。

*甲午十月自北美來蘇、皖，過錫、寧、淝上，並和州，欣與諸友。

How plesant is this golden autumn bright,
Where Jiangnan’s fish and crabs invite.
My hosts insist with earnest cheer—
How can I turn such kindness dear!

 

Long war-torn wanderings now laid to rest,
Old friends’ warm hearts in laughter blessed.
Facing, we chat through night’s deep hue—
Seize the wild geese returning true!

 

By the window, ink and page align,
My verses flow as thoughts entwine.
Pine blooms dust cliffs in fading light;
Red coats drink in the countryside’s delight.

 

—Written in October 2014, journeying from North America through Jiangsu-Anhui, passing Wuxi, Nanjing,  Hefei, and He Zhou, joyfully reunited with friends.
