Texan versus New Yorker

 

Versus

I have heard from my American friends that Texan and New Yorker are very proud of themselves being who they are since I came to the states! 
I also can feel the differences between them from my limited senses and experience. 

Allison lives in Texas, but her parents live in New York.
She went to visit her parents as often as possible. And that is the reason for this post from her. She said please keep in mind that these are her observations and are meant to make you laugh! I like it. So I want to share with everyone who is interested in.

The differences between Texans and New Yorkers:

1. Texans have approximately 3 pairs of boots each. A work pair, a church pair, and an everyday pair. New Yorkers seem to think that boots are only a prop in a western movie.

2. In Texas, liberals are considered the oddballs. In New York, conservatives are the wacky ones.

3. Pretty much every Texan has shot a gun. Most people own at least one. Over half own a concealed license and carry it to church. Most New Yorkers have never even seen a gun.

4. In Texas, I address every single person, young or old, that I come across as "ma'am" or "sir". While in New York, I have to be careful not to address anybody this way, else they murder me in my sleep.

5. I can walk through a door in Texas, blindfolded, without ever having to touch it because I know somebody will hold it open for me. It's best not to try this in New York, or else you'll walk away with a bruised noggin.

6. "Y'all" is considered proper grammar down south. It is slang up north.

7. Texas schools are extremely diverse, so much so that in most schools whites only make up about 50%. In New York, you're considered "diverse" if there is a 5% minority population.

8. New Yorkers can't walk outside when the humidity index is higher than 15%. This makes Texans laugh, as their average day is at a humidity level of 85%.

9. It is hot in New York when the temperature reaches 80. 80 in the springtime/fall in Texas is just right, in the summer is considered to be extremely cool, and in the winter it is to be expected.

10. Texan women are very pretty. New York men are also very pretty. They wear the same size clothes.

11. Texas has Chuck Norris. In fact, he has a ranch 25 minutes away from where I live, and I get to pass it every time I go to my fiancé's parent's house. New York has.....hookers?
