This is a one-year course that will develop students’ abilities to examine works of art, to become acquainted with major art forms, and to understand art from cultures around the world. The class will feature slide lectures, discussions, and the viewing in of works of art. No prior experience in art history is necessary for students to take this course, but the course is designed to meet college standards and requires a high degree of commitment to academic work. Students can receive academic credit and will be eligible to take the AP Art History exam in May 2012. The class is FREE, but students will need to purchase the required text and pay the AP exam fee.
