任由那書掉在石頭背麵，舒心了些。
草叢裏，我輕輕起身。
不願打擾那一隊螞蟻
它們正在柵欄柱爬列成行，
搬運白色小花瓣兒，
投下的影子如此微弱，都能透視它們。
我閉目一會兒，傾聽。
老蚱蜢
疲乏了，吃力蹦達，
它們的腿已不堪負累。
我想聽到它們，發出的清澈鳴聲。
之後，可愛，悠遠地，一隻黝黑蟋蟀開始歌唱
在楓樹林裏。

Depressed by a Book of Bad Poetry, I Walk Toward an Unused
Pasture and Invite the Insects to Join Me

Relieved, I let the book fall behind a stone.
I climb a slight rise of grass.
I do not want to disturb the ants
Who are walking single file up the fence post,
Carrying small white petals,
Casting shadows so frail that I can see through them.
I close my eyes for a moment and listen.
The old grasshoppers
Are tired, they leap heavily now,
Their thighs are burdened.
I want to hear them, they have clear sounds to make.
Then lovely, far off, a dark cricket begins
In the maple trees.
