回複 '京華人' 的評論 : 托翁的作品中有許多《聖經》的引文，不太容易理解。記憶中，作者在《複活》的每一個章節起首都引用了一段《聖經》中的話，至今記得作者曾經引用過《馬太福音》：
第21節：彼得進前來問耶穌：“我弟兄得罪我，我當饒恕他幾次呢？到七次可以嗎？”
第22節：耶穌說：“我對你說，不是到七次，乃是到七十個七次。”
很多年以後讀到了德語的原文：
21 Da trat Petrus zu ihm und sprach: Herr, wie oft soll ich meinen Bruder vergeben, der gegen mich sündigt?
22 Jesus antwortet ihm: Ich sage dir, nicht bis siebenmal, sondern bis siebenmalsiebenmal!
時至今日都沒有完全理解這些話的真正含義。
