True. Reagan Administration apologied for this action, however you won't see anything mentioned related to this topic in American History book. $20K is nothing in the seventies comparing to those American Japanese who lost their home, thier businesses and more: their loved ones plus the time which no one can really pay back.

I agree that this is an act of discrimination, and I disapprove of the actions taken by the U.S. government. But the Japanese interment camp was not hidden by the government -- in fact, the U.S. government officially apologized to the Japanese Americans and paid compensation to each of them who were relocated to the internment camps ($20,000 USD per person). President Ronald Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 and reparations were made during the 1990s. Again, I disapprove of the internment camps, but the U.S. government did take actions to acknowledge and apologize for its mistakes.
