as I express the my interest of forming a partnership among few forum members three days ago, to handle some bigger projects that maybe beyond one's own reach, we had many discussion on this topic, few had post good, bad, horror experiences on such partnership.
the idea of forming a bonded partnership, has been in my mind for a little while; as I consider myself somewhat successful locally, but I know the main reason I had done well in the pass, half is luck, another half is networking, because I know the area well, from mayor to building inspector to fire marshal, I know them in person. but if I go out of area, I will have no connection, thus I must rely on a strong local person as the project manager.
trust is an expensive commodity, and these type of projects, we are working with people never met in real life, only know of each other sit behind the screen, takes lot more than just money to win someone's trust.
everyone here are smart, highly educated person, but most of everybody, like myself, we just opportunists, not truly business minded. I had feel I am reaching my bottleneck, both in scale and finance. to reach a further goal, forming a partnership in national level, make perfect sense to me.
at this point, there is no group project, in the near horizon, the series of survey, just to get a pulse of how everyone feel toward such partnership.
my idea way of company structure will be, an executive board with 5-7 trusted members, which they will study and recommend a project to public, and investors can vote go or no go on that project.
again, we are assuming this project is MFU complex base in TX, approximately cost 1mil. the question is, if you interest in participating, what is your risk tolerance...
