Drinking alone under the Moon
Li Bai
One jar of wine pours amid flowers
One man drinks alone with no dears
I raise my cup to invite the moon
Look to my shadow and make us three
The moon knows not the virtue of wine
Neither the shadow clings this body of mine
Yet they are proper companies for me
For not letting this joyous springtime flee
Ever rhyming the moon lingers to my song
More flighty my shadow dances to my dance
Our joys mix together in the hours sober
Our ways on our drunks depart one another
Yet a promise is made for the play out there afar
Our worry free union amid the clouds of stars
