歌友妖妖，非常好學，受其感染，來這裏和大家分享一些英語學習的小心得。我家LD是英語人，我經常發覺在同一件事情上麵，我們的表達方式不太同。譬如“不太喜歡什麽東西”，他會說，I can care less，說人家不太聰明，他會說，not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree，嫌我說話聲音太大了，他會說，honey, we have neighbours. :))
我呢於是就收集了一些，他們英文人平日裏會用的一些俚語，或者慣用語，覺得還蠻有意思的。譬如：
<Jump in the shower>：字麵的意思：跳進衝涼房。也有地方說 Hop in the shower。
我其實一直就不明白，take a shower 為什麽要“跳進去”，我以為特指“很快地洗個澡”， 因為Jump 給我的感覺就是有點著急，後來發覺，人家基本就是洗澡的意思，雖然有時候也指 take a quick shower。
例句：
- I am gonna jump in the shower: 我去衝個涼；
- I feed the dogs, put the coffee on, and jump in the shower：我喂好狗，把咖啡煮上，然後衝涼。
- I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go jump in the shower： 我去洗個澡，我馬上回來。
<Bob’s your uncle>: 你如果聽人說這句話，多數的情況下，他不是在告訴你，他有一個叫Bob的叔叔。這句話的意思是：沒事兒了，搞定了！非常口語化，用途也很廣泛。
例句：
- You add two cups of water and heat it for five minutes and Bob’s your uncle, the soup is ready. 加兩杯水，加熱五分鍾就搞定，湯做好了！
- ” I will heat up some leftover meat, and then steam some vegetable. Bob’s your uncle! We will have nice dinner tonight.” 今晚我會熱一下剩菜，再蒸一個蔬菜，晚餐搞定！
- You just download the app, sign up and hit the start button. Bob’s your uncle: 你隻要下載這個App，注冊，然後點擊開始按鈕就搞定了。
<Knock on wood>: 字麵意思： 敲一下木頭。
你可能經常會聽到人家說著說著，就來這麽一句，上下文中根本沒有木頭啊，怎麽忽然要“敲一下木頭”呢，原來這句話的意思是“ 好運繼續，壞運氣走開”，從例句中更能理解這個短語的用法：
例句：
- I haven’t had one accident so far. Knock on wood. 目前位置，我還沒有發生過任何交通事故，敲一下木頭 (希望永遠不要發生）。
- The team I support has been winning every game so far, knock on wood. 我所支持的球隊，目前位置全勝，敲一下木頭（希望一直贏）。
- We have had a smooth journey so far, knock on wood. 目前位置，旅途一切順利，敲一個木頭 （希望一直順利下去直到結束）。
