關於 I talk myself in I talk myself out

"Talk oneself out" 是個成語，常用在心理質詢，意思是“讓某人自己說個不停把心理的秘密全都說出來”.電影“Shutter Island”中就“Talk yourself out” 的台詞。這個反身代詞的意思在成語中已經轉換了，成了自己內心的秘密的意思。轉換是成語的特征

那麽這裏的“talk myself in, I talk myself out"的意思就是“我說個不停把內心的秘密藏起來，我又說個不停把內心的秘密說出來”表達的是內心矛盾，管不住自己的心態，心理谘詢時說個不停，不就是自言自語。這和“I came up with millions of excuses” 是相互增強的關係。什麽“我告訴自己開始/相信，我告訴自己結束/不相信”等翻譯完全是錯誤的、憑空亂加的字眼。就一點，把 talk 這個表示持續動作的動詞理解成 tell 表示短暫動作的動詞就是錯誤的。其它錯誤不值的費口舌。

再說，I get all worked up” 即使按照動情盼望理解，也是被動語態，即“我被（你）弄得來了興致情緒等等 ，”那麽接下裏那句“I let myself down（我讓我自己失望），豈不是虎頭蛇尾，自我貶低？哪來抒情的優雅和力量？當然別人對這些歌詞的意思要怎麽理解，完全是他的自由。我隻希望能能展現批判的能力和力量和鑒賞水平，對各自不同的見解作出有力度辯護。這樣才能學到一點知識。否則就是口水戰，沒有意思。

寫得好的歌詞，因為押韻，配樂等要求，往往語言多義多喻，而且打破語言的慣例使用，使之具有新意。 要真正理解這些用法，用喬姆斯基的說法就是說需要和有文化水平的native speakers的那樣的 linguistic competence。”這些可以通過看連環畫，看電視，電影，聽歌曲、聽收音機等慢慢充實。
這兒有的人凡是有個爭論，動不動就拿native speaker作最後的權威，也是沒知識的表現。除非是專業人士，其他本地人也說不出個所以然來。
