關於“黃河遠上白雲間，一片孤城千仞山”的理解和翻譯。

 

首先問：黃河遠上白雲間，一片孤城千仞山

能翻成

The Yellow River far up in white clouds Rises,

或者

The Yellow River crawls far into the clouds in white

嗎？

難道黃河能克服地心引力上升到雲天之上去？

 難道先輩的思維沒有邏輯或者常識？還是譯者的理解不對？我看是後者。

如若不信，請簡析“黃河遠上白雲間”中的間字的意思。間這個字在古代漢語作名詞，讀平聲，表示地點，是空間，間隙，縫隙的意思.所以這個間在這裏相當於英文中的引導地點從句的where. 作動詞讀入聲，如“間以河山”。

另外我認為這兩句詩就像一幅中國畫比較誇張的描述了孤城的地勢和氣象的壯美和高大。“黃河遠上白雲間”，是指孤城的地勢之高，黃河在遠處白雲之上的空間和縫隙中穿行，這才富有詩意，而不是說黃河升上了天。

光說不做也不行。我試把“黃河遠上白雲間，一片孤城千仞山”翻譯如下:

Where the Yellow River goes above clouds far and white,

A lonely city nestles by mountains miles in height.
