懶人的聽寫作業，based on NewVoice‘s

They need never know lonely hours so long as they have books surround ( around?聽不出) them, and the better the books, the more delightful the company. From the good books, moreover, they draw much besides the entertainment, they gain mental food such as few companions can supply. Even while resting from their labors they are, through the books they read, they are equipping themselves to perform these（those） labors more efficiently. This shall （They saw？）be it, they may not be deliberately  reading it to improve their minds, all unconsciously the ideas they derived from the printed pages are stored up to be worked over by the imagination for their future profit.
