開頭的 /h/ 音省略

主語 + have -> 讀成 *’ave
主語 + has -> 讀成 *’as
主語 + had -> 讀成 *’ad
主語 + haven’t -> 讀成 *’aven’t
主語 + hasn’t -> 讀成 *’asn’t
主語 + hadn’t -> 讀成 *’adn’t

對話腳本
Receptionist: Hello. Dr. Okamoto’s office.
TONY:         This is Tony Lamotta. I have a terrible backache.
Receptionist: We have an opening tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock.
TONY:         I had to stay home from work today. You haven’t got anything sooner?
Receptionist: Wait a minute. The doctor has a cancellation at 3 o’clock today. Can you come in then?
TONY:         She has an opening at 3 o’clock? Thank you so much.
Receptionist: You’re welcome. What kind of insurance do you have?
TONY:         What kind of insurance do I have?
Receptionist: The doctors have a policy. If you don’t have insurance, we can’t bill you.
TONY:         You mean I’m going to have to pay her today? I hadn’t planned for that.

聲調(升/降調):每句都有。
以第一句為例:Hello是降升降,表示強調,來引起對方注意; Dr. Okamoto’s office.最後一個詞(office)用的是微升調,表示對話未完,該聽對方說了。
