I was a meat eater, for sure. But decades of living on white flour and rice was, I believe, to blame for my pre-diabetic diagnosis a year ago.
As alluded to in other posts, I love Michael Pollan's food writings. "The Omnivore's Dilemma," "In Defense of Food," and the latest "Cooked" have been most inspiring.
The slogan "eat food, not too much, mostly plants" sounds deceptively simple and yet summarizes the wisdom accumulated by different cultures.
Mine was not the SAD diet either. (A great acronym, by the way.)
